The Youth Ambassadors Program with Canada is a fully-funded, 3-week exchange program to the United States, including a community homestay and visit to Washington, D.C.  The Youth Ambassadors Program is a U.S. Department of State program with funding provided by the U.S. Government. The program is administered by World Learning in partnership with U.S. Embassy Ottawa.

This year’s program runs from July 16 to August 1, 2024.

During the exchange, students (ages 15-18) will participate in activities that develop their leadership skills and explore themes of social inclusion.  When they return home, they will implement a community service project under the guidance of the adult mentors and Youth Ambassadors Program staff.

The Youth Ambassadors Program particularly strives to ensure a diverse representation of Canada, including students from underrepresented groups, Indigenous Canadians, and new Canadians.  The program also seeks to select students who have limited travel experience to the United States.

Applications for the Youth Ambassadors Program are open from Monday, February 5, 2024, to Monday, March 4, 2024.
