The group is offering two scholarships this year to support local students pursuing careers in healthcare. One scholarship will be awarded to a student entering a healthcare field, and an additional scholarship will be designated for a student pursuing studies to become a doctor (MD).

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Academic Achievement: Applicants must have an overall average of 80% or higher.
  • Healthcare Career Path: Applicants must be accepted into, or currently applying to, a recognized post-secondary program in healthcare. Eligible fields include (but are not limited to) nursing, medicine, respiratory therapy, diagnostic imaging, medical laboratory technology, or other healthcare professions.
  • Additional Award: In addition to the general healthcare scholarship, a separate award will be given specifically to a student pursuing a path to become a doctor (MD). Applicants should indicate this in their submission if applicable.
  • Essay Requirement: A short essay (250 to 500 words) must be submitted, explaining why the applicant wants to work in healthcare, what inspired this career path, and how they hope to make a difference in their community or in the world.
  • Community Involvement: Volunteer experience, particularly in health-related areas such as hospitals, nursing homes, or other care settings, will be considered an asset. Involvement in school and community events, wellness activities, fundraisers, or other community service efforts will also strengthen the application.

Application Deadline:
All applications must be submitted by June 1, 2025.

Award Presentation:
The selected recipients will be recognized and presented with their scholarship during their graduation ceremony.
